RVs have a lot of room for a wide variety of things including a kitchen and even a table. Making a table to replace an old RV table is a relatively simple process. You can also use this process to build a table for RVs that never had tables. It does require using power tools such as a circular saw and a hand held electrical drill. You should also have a basic understanding of working with wood before you begin.

Instructions

Measure the area in which you are placing your table with a tape measure. Write these measurements down on a piece of paper, including the length and width. Make sure there is a wall against which to place your table.

Subtract your table measurements by 5 inches to give room for people to sit down at the table and relax. This also gives your table room to fold down without scraping the ground.

Draw a rectangle on your plywood with your pencil and ruler. Measure it out to the length and width of your table, minus the 5 inches from earlier.

Cut the rectangle out of your plywood with your circular saw. Smooth the edges with your sandpaper to avoid splinters coming off of the table.

Screw one hinge to the top of your plywood board on each side of the board. Attach the hinges to the wall where you want to place the table. Make sure the table top is level before attaching the hinges to the wall.

Pick your table back up and hold it level to the ground. Measure the distance between the bottom of the board and the floor. Write this down on your paper and fold the tabletop back down.

Measure the distance from the board to the floor on a two-by-four board. Cut this board out with your circular saw. Attach another hinge to the top of this board.

Screw the other hinge underneath the tabletop. Position the board so that it sits in the exact center of the outer edge of the tabletop. Make sure the board folds back underneath the table.

Draw a rectangle on your Formica that is as wide and as long as your table. Cut this out on your circular saw and screw it to the tabletop to finish your table. Open up the table and balance it on the two-by-four to hold it up.
